This is a real treat for me.

I often have people on here I'm friends with,

but Glenn Kenny, my guest today, is someone who has been a dear friend since 1997.

And that's a long time ago.

In fact, Glenn and I met before,

while we were shooting rounders, long before it came out.

He did a set visit when he was the writer for Premier magazine. He was also the chief film

critic for Premier magazine. But he did a feature on the film. I had a healthy skepticism about journalists.

Glenn won me over very quickly.

And we immediately moved from a sort of professional relationship

to a real friendship.

We've been at each other's family events. I was at his wedding and he is a great

writer, one of the smartest people that I know. And he has a new book out called Made Men which is the story of the

making of goodfellas it is a book I read at the beginning of pandemic in

galley form and as I told Glenn it really was just so diverting and was able to take my mind off of what we were all dealing with.

And I got to become completely immersed again

in one of my favorite movies in how and why it was made.
