Well, as we look today at parts two and three of a five-part series on Gateway to Joy,

Give Your Suffering to God.

We'll think about the very definition of suffering and about enduring your test.

Well, let me give you a quick update on the family of Elizabeth Elliott.

Lars Gren, her third husband,

had been ill for some time.

And Kathy Rigg of the Elizabeth Elliott Foundation

told me earlier this morning.

Lars finished his race

and peacefully took his last breath here on earth.

And first breath in heaven at 537 central time this morning.

Thank you so much for all your prayers.

So do be in prayer for the family,

and actually we'll be hearing some comments from Lars

during the 2015 memorial service for Elizabeth Elliott, the first of two that year.

He'll be talking about Elizabeth's final hours.
