Deval and Cadine Ellis, I've always imagined their lives as a family sitcom, like Martin or the Fresh Prince of Lair.

But instead of an opening montage with Will Smith and Philadelphia, the Ellis's would open in Brooklyn.

And it's not the typical Brooklyn street that people expect. So it's not the hood Brooklyn that everyone is used to. It's the new Brooklyn.

The X-Five Brooklyn, yes.

Broken with bike lanes, whole foods, artisan pickle shops.

The young woman pushing the stroller with the poodle.

And then a Rolls Royce slides into frame.

Young Black dude pulls up and he's confused.

Because this is not the Brooklyn that he's remembers. He walks around, opens the door for his beautiful wife, Cadine.

We open up the back door, out jumps three boys who are used to a suburban life and are looking at an apartment building.

And the young man goes, we're going to live in there and that's how it opens up.

That's how it opens up.

That will be our sitcom.

The Cosby Show, living single, family matters, Black-ish. The Ellis's weren't gonna wait.

They took their sitcom to the internet.

Today on the show, Deval and Cadine Ellis tell us about making their own show about their lives as millennial parents.

Even though their videos are sometimes partially scripted, they're always based on something real going on in their family.
