It's the morning of stage 12. Welcome to Never Strays Far again. I'm standing in a very changed Adriatic coast,

around about 150 miles north of where I was yesterday.

A couple of hundred kilometers,

so 250 kilometers north of where we were.

Big old transfer last night.

But we're still on the Adrietic coast.

And the mist has rolled in, so it's quite early in the morning.

There's a strong sea mist, it's very grey overhead, and, yeah, as far as I can see in either direction on this

endlessly long sandy beach I can just see a forest of parasols or planted into the sand but all their canopies

filled up so all tied up and no one is going to be swimming today unless the weather changes rapidly.

We stayed at last night in an extraordinary hotel called the Bianca Nave, which is Snow White.

The name is Snow White. And it was entirely themed Snow White.

Everybody's rooms had a different what they're called dwarf or some sort of aspect of the Snow White fairy story.

It was extremely friendly.

Probably tell you a little bit more about the owner because his story was pretty remarkable.

But also a little bit spooky, I'm not going to lie.

And just this morning before I've set out to stroll along the beach and think about what might happen on the bike race today,

I noticed in the foyer of the hotel a leaflet, encouraging you a tourist leaflet, you

leaflet, you know, one of those ones you can pick up,

a local attraction and it was for a grote de frassazi,

the frassazi caves which are nearby

up in the hills in Marke.
