Despite being attached to others more than ever, thanks to the invention of smartphones

and social media, here in the 21st century, loneliness has become a critical public health issue.

Feelings of loneliness can affect you

or your overall health and in a recent study 36% of Americans admit to

feeling the effects of extreme loneliness which I think is a big deal. Like I said, it can affect your physical and your

mental health. And that may be why a new product called Friend is getting some major attention.

It sounds like a parody commercial like the S&L would do.

It's like, enjoy Friend.

I know, but that's not the case.

So Friend is a virtual companion, you wear like a necklace.

It looks like a pendant and has a built-in microphone

as well as listens and responds to whatever you say.

But don't get too excited if this sounds intriguing to you because friend can only work with iPhones.
