I'm a of the few liberal coastal elites who has never actually lived in California,

but that doesn't mean I don't care what happens there or what happens to its almost 40 million residents,

which is why I, even as a New Yorker,

have some serious choice words for the current state of the California gubernatorial primary.

California has a unique, nonpartisan primary system where the two top vote getters

advanced to the November general election.

And because no amount of snappy tweets can get Governor Newsom to be allowed to run for a third

term, Democrats are looking for a candidate that can keep the governor's office blue.

Unfortunately, there are basically 100 Democrats running currently who think they are the future chosen one.

Look, look, look, I love civic engagement. It's nice to volunteer for something. It's important.

Except when so many people volunteer that you are currently splitting the vote so much in polling that the two

top vote getters in current polls are actually Republicans. Why are Democrats so bad at this?

It is time to circle the wagons, folks. Egos put them away. Don't make me come over there and tell this to your face.
