Never before in American history have we had 3,000 protests on a single day.

Never happened, Never been done.

But we have also never had a raging mega-lo-maniac mentally declining fascists with nuclear codes.

Now, look, we've had our duds, our share of bad presence. Jackson was, you know, war-mongering bigot, Buchanan sleepwalk deaths into civil war. Reagan himself

was in mental decline when he was launching disastrous military campaigns. But Trump kind of takes

all of the worst qualities of American presidents and, like, takes it to 11. And so when we have

this historically catastrophic national leadership, what do we do? Well, we respond on March 28th with an historically enormous display of organized people power.

And March 28th, no kings is a day we're intermittently calling.

We're calling at No King's Spring because the ice is finally melting.

We're calling at No Kings 3 because it's the third one of these.

We've also been calling at No Kings 3,000 internally because we now have 3,000 events on the map. But what's the point of all this? Why are we here? What can we hope to accomplish? What do we have left to do between now and the big day? What you might ask, Leah, is the plan? Well, we're asking and answering that today.

For this week's What the Plan, we're going to go a little bit deeper on the logic of No Kings. What we are going to accomplish why it is worth all of our time and what we've got left to do. Leah, last year, in the lead-up to the first No Kings, you had this really great piece that you wrote that made the rounds, and it was titled The Strategic Logic of the No King's Protests.

Can you talk us through what that was about and why the hell are we going through all the trouble to do all this?

So, I mean, it was written because we were hearing this last year.
