a case that's really grabbed headlines in the last couple of weeks and it really just broke wide open everyone's talking about the true crime crime community is all up in arms.

It's one of those cases that has you know mystery and drama and horror and sort of every man all rolled into one and I'm talking about the Gilgopiche serial killer case in New York.

We really appreciate all of our listeners overseas, but this case started a long time ago, a long, long time ago when on a place called Gilgopiche, New York, which fun.

Yeah, fun fact.

And just on the little bit lighter side, because this can be a heavy episode lighter side fun fact, one Bobby Chacon.

Let's just say did some serious growing up on Gilgopiche. So Bobby Chacon is very familiar with the location. He played around there when he was a teenager.

So Gilgopiche in Long Island, New York is Jim, have you been there? I've not been there. Can you describe it for people? Do you know what it's like?

Well, it's sort of a strip, a very thin strip across, you know, it's sort of there's a little, little inlet area in between the main Long Island and that beach and then out further it becomes fire island.

And, you know, so, but it's a, it's, it's, it's opposite Massa Piqua, right? It's right near Massa Piqua, which is a town in Long Island.

And, and it's, you know, it's sort of a, you can think of it as like a sort of a barrier island beach, a long thin beach that that's perpendicular to perpendicular.

That's parallel to the shore of Long Island. And the thing about it is, it's kind of isolated, especially at late at night. And it is a place where, where police dogs, they were training police dogs, cadaver dogs, and sure enough, a cadaver dog hit on an actual body or the remnants of a body.

And it was skeletonized. And, of course, it became a crime scene. And then they started searching around the area and they found four bodies pretty close nearby.

Well, I remember when this happened, and it happened 11 bodies.

Oh, my God. I remember when this happened, Jim, because it was, it made the news and it was, it was, it was several years ago now when they first discovered all of these bodies.
