Hello everyone and welcome to police off the cuff real crime stories.

I'm your host, retired NYPD sergeant Bill Cannon, a 27-year veteran of the NYPD.

A lot of interesting things going on in, of course,

the Gilgo Case Rechium and Asa Ellorup agreeing to do a documentary

being paid seven figures,

but something regarding the DNA.

And I think this got a little bit blown out and a little bit confusing

the way it was presented.

And if you read the initial article that was written in Newsday that no doubt most people

were referencing when they went to this story, I'm just going to read a little bit of that

article right now.

A cheek swab sample collected from the estranged wife of alleged Gilgo beat serial

killer, Rex Eumann, matched her DNA material found on the remains of some of the homicide

victims.

This was from a law enforcement source told Newsday.

The DNA sample from Asa Ellorup was taken on July 13th the night her husband

and Massapequa Park resident was arrested on charges he killed three of the women

whose remains were found near Gilgo Beach in 2010. Ueman has pled not guilty to three counts

each of first and second degree murder in the deaths of Melissa

Bartolome, Megan Waterman, and Ambelin Costello. Authority said he is the prime suspect in the

killing of a fourth victim, Marine-Branard Barnes, as a special grand jury is reviewing evidence
