dan schneier joins always my coach nick volato and today we're going to kind of take a deeper dive into

the human side of the giants 2026 rookie class and why are we doing that well nick and i have always long

discussed like not to be negative nancy to start to show nick but there have been times throughout this history of covering the Giants where we heard a post draft interview or a pre-draft interview with a player of the Giants drafted. And we kind of looked at ourselves off camera, Nick and I were like, I don't know about this guy. I don't know because you know what, ultimately when it comes down to it, the tape is awesome. is awesome it matters all that stuff is super important and it's probably the most

important thing but if you don't have that last component nick that human side of it that drive to

want to be the best that you know willingness to put in the work to become the best you're never

going to be the best you're never going to build a team that's going to win championships or consistently win division. So it's been really great, Nick, for me to get to know the science rookie class because I'm coming away from this thing across the board excited about every single one of their personalities. They're all different from Reese to hood, Maui, Noah, and really, and obviously Malachi Fields in the rest of the class, but really across the board, I like what I'm hearing from what they're saying in their interviews. So today we're going to talk about the human side, what each of these players said during the rookie camp interview. We're going to talk a little bit about what we've learned from a Giants Life show, Nick, which is taking us through the draft process as well and some of the

moves the Giants had. But I'll ask you this to start the show, Nick. We'll dive right into it.

The Giants are on the clock in round two, and they had some offers. The first one was a chance

to move all the way back or the one that we know for sure. There's potentially an offer to move to

37, I'm sorry, from an offer to move to 37.

I'm sorry, from 37 to 41 or to 42. We don't know exactly what was involved in those. But there was one offer that was discussed on the show that I want to hear your take on this if you would have liked them to take this offer. The Lions offered the Giants 118, 128, and 157. So that's fourth rounder, a fourth rounder, I believe, and then a fifth round pick for the Giants to move seven spots back from where they took Colton. Would you have taken that

deal? I probably would have considered that deal at the time, yes. But I love the fact that the

Giants had the conviction on Colton Hood.

And we heard Brennan Brown just wax poetic on the process of selecting Colton Hood

and where it kind of started and how the Giants had him circled.
