Hey, everybody.

If you're a regular listener of the podcast, you know that usually at the end of every week, I say hopefully next week we have something to talk about.

If you're a Giants fan, you also probably realize that there is nothing really to talk about since last week's podcast in terms of free agency, in terms of the offseason.

Really, you can go back to the podcast before that, which was before the holidays.

And when they traded for Longoria, nothing's happened since then either.

And not just for the Giants, but for the most part around baseball, I think you look around,

really, the major news this week was the Jay Bruce signing.

But that shouldn't be that big a deal in a normal offseason. It just happens to be that nothing else is going on.

So Jay Bruce was a big story for a couple days. The Giants did talk to him. The Giants had some level

of interest in bringing him in, and Jay obviously made it clear, at least through his agent,

that he would

love to play in San Francisco. But ultimately, any deal they had on the table for him was below the

deal he got with the Mets, and they were not comfortable going up to that level to add Jay Bruce,

it probably would have spent most of the rest of the remaining money under the tax. So here we are.

The Giants still need an outfielder,

probably need two outfielders, I think is what they would like to do, although you will hear on this

podcast quite a bit more about Stephen Dugger. So he continues to be a guy that has a lot of fans.
