The 1984 a woman arrives home to her Manhattan apartment and begins unpacking her shopping.

All of a sudden, the eggs on her kitchen counter inexplicably begin hatching and cooking in front of her very eyes.

As if this wasn't frightening enough, a deep booming demonic voice begins to emanate from inside her fridge.

The woman is scared, confused, in need of help, but who's she going to call?

With the wave of popular ghost movies of the late 70s and early 80s,

particularly Spielberg's poltergeist in 1982,

ghosts had shot back into mainstream culture,

with the ghost genre being as broad as it is.

Filmmakers such as Ivan Reitman and Tim Burton began introducing the concept of the

ghost into more comedic family-friendly movies, something that would throw back to the early days of ghost movies of

the 30s and 40s, but while still maintaining those horror tropes from recent horrific

classics such as Ameterville, the Changeling and even the entity.
