What happens when the ghosts of war refused to stay buried?

We'll find out in this account that all started back in 1916 shared by Riley.

Private author Burnham Mallard had died at Somme in 1916. His name was etched in brass

on the town memorial, and for decades that was all anyone knew. But for Alice Cartwright, author was

immediate. She had inherited a small creaking house from her great-uncle, a man obsessed with war

relics, and in the attic, amid dust and boxes of brittle letters, she found author's correspondence.

Her great-uncle had spent decades trying to keep their memories alive.

He believed the dead only lingered if someone still sought them.

By opening those letters, Alice had unknowingly taken up his role.
