a conversation about the historic Wichita Orpheum with executive director Stacey Olden.

Recently, my best friend James and I visited the Orphium Theater right here in Wichita, Kansas.

It's a historic venue that's been entertaining audiences since 1922.

Originally, it was a vaudeville stage graced by iconic performers like Al Jolson and Harry Houdini. They still have many great shows

and events, but I'd heard over the years that it was quite haunted. So we sat down with the executive

director, Stacey Olden, in the heart of the theater, and we talked about the spirits of this

grand old theater just waiting for their next encore.

We stayed for a ghost hunt that night and didn't experience anything paranormal,

but it did seem like we weren't alone during our talk about the theater.

So I'm really excited that we are actually sitting in the Orphium Theater in Wichita, Kansas.

So I would say this is my Orphium Theater.

Stacey, what is your job title here?

So I'm the executive director of the Orpham Theater.

And that's a pretty new, new-ish position for you, right? It is, yes. I previously was development director for about three years and just became executive director in June. Hats off, development's a very hard job.
