My name is Rob Maower catching up on a few news items today as we head into the Q3 earnings report tomorrow.

We'll also go through the facts set consensus estimates to get a better idea of expectation for that report.

Tesla stock today rebounding after a negative day yesterday, up 0.8% to $255.58, which compared to the NASDAQ down 0.7%.

First piece of news I wanted to discuss is again coming from Global Times related to

Gigafactory Shanghai. On Sunday, Global Times tweeted, quote,

Tesla Shanghai factory is ready for production and sales will begin

after being granted, product certification, and government approval, said Tesla Global Vice President Tao Lint.

So this does conflict a little bit with the information that we had reported last week.

This was a Reuters report and they quoted an analyst based out of China named Yelzong.

After it was reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China had added Tesla to

a government list of approved automotive manufacturers,

Yelzong said, quote,

the green light is fully given to Tesla for production in China,

Also adding that this meant that Tesla can start production at any time,

however, for whatever reason that appears to not yet be the case.

Regardless, there is a lot of activity at Gigafactory Shanghai. There are trucks that are coming and docking and going,

so whatever constraints remain for actual production, I'm sure they will be

resolved relatively quickly here. And hopefully we'll get some more information on that tomorrow.
