It's a little jarring to look at a map of the country right now and trace the spread of measles.

2025 is now the worst year for measles cases in this country in more than three decades.

Maybe you've heard the headlines that the last time the U.S. saw this many measles cases was 1992,

that there are more than 1,300 infections, and the year's only half over.

17 states have reported outbreaks this year. Health experts fear the U.S. may lose its status as having eliminated measles.
