Our special guest will be 38 year DETROIT F.D. veteran Senior Chief Bob Dombrowski. He Started the academy June 26,1972 and after six weeks was assigned to Engine 12 as a Trial Firefighter. In 1974, After being bounced around for a couple of years ended up at Ladder 4 (Engine 10). In 1978 he made FFD and was sent to Ladder 13 (Engine 33). After ten years in 1988 he made Sergeant and first worked at Ladder 4, then Ladder 13. In 1992 he Made Lieutenant (swing) Engine 33/Ladder13. Then in 1996; Senior Lieutenant sent to Engine 37. In 2001 was promoted to Captain and Sent to Engine 23, then on September 11,2001 he transferred to Engine 10. In 2005 was promoted to Battalion Chief 7-5 swing, then ended up with his own Battalion 4 in Northwest Detroit. In 2008 he was promoted to Senior Chief and was transferred to Headquarters and on June 26,2010 after 38 Years he retired!
His book "38 Years: A Detroit Firefighter's Story" is a must read and one which we will be discussing. Again, We are truly honored to have this man on our show. #DETROIT #DFD
