GETTIN' SALTY EXPERIENCE PODCAST Ep.156 - Our special guest will be 29 year veteran and 84 year old FDNY Captain Joe Sassone. He was appointed in Oct of 1962 and upon graduating proby school he was assigned to H&L 18. In Dec of ’73 he transferred to Engine 17. In Jan 1974 he was promoted to Lt. and assigned to Ladder 26-2 in Apr 1974. The company was disbanded in Dec 1974 and he was assigned to Ladder 27 in May 1975. In Nov 1982 he was promoted to Captain, and in June 1985 he was assigned to Rescue 4. he retired in March 1991. I'm pretty sure he hasn't seen any fire.
