Our special guest will be 40 year BOSTON FD and Legendary Photographer FF Bill Noonan. In 1971, He began working as a Boston firefighter, on Engine 3, in the South End. In 1978, the department was looking for a fill-in fire photographer, and he took the job. Bill has been the official photographer for the Boston Fire Department for over forty years. In that time, he has tirelessly chronicled the men and the history of their fine department. He has taken 100's of thousands of photos of the brave men of the Boston Fire Department. Documented are action shots, candids, portraits of sooty-faced Jakes after some hard fought fires, light-hearted shots that show the brotherhood of the service, and historic shots documenting the old stations and rigs of the BFD. He has also been unfortunately to some of Boston's worst incidents. All the images Bill has compiled over the years are iconic and they tell a thousand stories. He is also the author of 4 photo books...Smoke Showin'...Jakes Under Fire...Wooden Sticks & Iron Men and Flames & Faces.
