Thanks for joining me. In today's episode, I'm going to talk you through cleaning for guests. However, even if you're

not expecting anyone, it's always a good idea to clean as if you were having company. So let's get

right into the episode. It's time to gear up for our cleaning session. Maybe you need to freshen up a little bit.

Lately, I've been doing this side braid thing, and that's kind of my around-the-house look.

Or maybe you need to light a candle, take out the trash, run your garbage disposal to make sure your house smells good.

That's something I definitely like to do immediately on the day guests are arriving is to start working on the smell. I'm not saying my house smells bad or anything,

but we have pets, and let's face it, we all just get used to certain smells. And especially if you

have carpeting and you have it shampooed in a while, it's a good idea to have some type of a pleasant scent to kind of compensate for that.

Another thing you might want to have handy are some carpet sprinkles.

Of course, if you don't have something to sprinkle on your carpeting,

you can use baking soda to kind of freshen your carpet. But sometimes

when I'm expecting company, I like to get those scented carpet sprinkles. It's not something I do all

the time. And it's no substitute for shampooing, which my husband does periodically. But we're

talking about the day you're having company,

so that might be something that you want to do to freshen up your house. If you have it on hand,

go around sprinkling that on your carpet and let it sit while we work on some of the other steps.

I'm not going to have you start a load of laundry or anything because now's not the time to

focus on things like that.

Something that I sometimes do when I am preparing for a party is just put my laundry hamper out in the garage.

From time to time, we've had parties where we've cleaned out the garage and people were throwing

darts, but that's not the norm. So often when I'm in that final crunch, that final hour getting ready for guests, I will put the dirty clothes hamper out in the garage.
