Isaiah chapter 60, verse 1 through 3, notice these words, arise, shine.

For your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth and thick darkness the peoples.

But the Lord will arise upon you and his glory will be seen upon you, and nations shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.

We're speaking today simply from the subject, get up, get up, and you may be seated with that.

Hallelujah to the Lamb.

Isn't it amazing that sometimes God will just give us a simple word like a rise?

We translated today to say, get up. On church days when I was growing up, it was not a, you know,

do you want to go to service today? If you had breath in you, you were going to get up and Mama just went through the house.

Get up from there.

Get up from there.

She got everything up because she was up.

And we went, Mama and Daddy and all six boys to church together.

And they never asked us if we wanted to go.

We had to just get up and go.

It was one of those kinds of situations as for me and my house.

It's interesting that the word arise means to get up.

It's actually a very strong spiritual word of activation and spiritual awakening.

It is God calling his people to arise into light, to arise into revelation,

to arise into the identity of who he has already made us to be. And it's interesting in

verse two there that it talked about darkness covering the earth

and then gross darkness the people.
