I am John Budhearts, the editor of Commentary magazine.

It was our design and intention. Not to

podcast live this week we actually taped five podcasts to have undated in the in the can so that we could take the week off.

A Greenwald is abroad.

And yet, obviously, the news of the last week

has been so insanely dramatic all over the place that because I came back to the

country after a week away I thought we really had to reconvene and provide you with what limited understanding we have of this unprecedented and indeed relatively

psychotic a political moment aside from our saying I told you so constantly we might want to get into the weeds a little bit and I'm just going to quickly start by saying

that being out of the country as I was and being off frank because I was in Europe so I was I was off the time schedule.

I I was a little bit removed from the pitch the hysterical pitch that seized the Democratic Party in the the other things to do that were more pleasurable and so not having felt the minute by minute

agony angst hysteria and all of that I didn't quite understand once I saw the polls the level of

democratic panic and I think that that feeling that I had Monday and Tuesday when the polls start coming out has been

justified by where things are today, where it appears that nothing short of a neutron bomb is going to get

Joe Biden out of the Oval Office.
