What's going on everyone? Welcome back to the epic gardening show and before we get into today's episode first I wanted to apologize

0:06.7

I was deep in Red Rock Canyon this weekend doing some rock climbing just taking some time to unplug but as I was

0:15.3

climbing up a rock a gust of wind hit me and it almost blasted me to this

0:21.5

realization that I hadn't put up episodes for the weekend.

0:24.3

So I'm very sorry about that and what I did is I rushed home in order to throw up

0:30.7

two reruns from early on in the podcast at a time when there were less

0:35.0

listeners and so thus those episodes didn't get as much traction as they

0:39.6

would today and so they were popular back then. I figured, you know what, old episodes that maybe most

0:46.1

people haven't heard are better than no episodes. So let's keep that daily streak going and I

0:54.8

regularly scheduled programming and so let's go ahead and get into it but before we

1:09.4

And the reason I did this is, number one, I use their products and I love their products.

1:14.2

Number two I know that a challenge for me is when I'm starting out a new raised bed, I often want to do it in a low budget way, which means maybe 60% topsoil and 30% or 40% compost.

1:30.0

But that compost can sometimes take a little bit to become bioavailable.

1:34.3

Maybe the topsoil isn't the best.

1:36.1

And so what I wanted to do was create a fertilizer that would become bioavailable

1:41.8

in the first season or a majority if it would become bioavailable in the first season but also leave enough to break down over continual seasons that you have a really good all around fertilizer for taking a new raised bed and being able to produce a lot of food

1:57.2

from it in that first year which is a critical thing for me. So if that's interesting you can go to the podcast description and I have a

2:05.0

direct link to my epic soil starter mix which I promise you is pretty awesome. I have
