It's easy to get caught up in what everyone else needs from you,

but you've got to put your mask on first, as they say, and also think about what you need from

yourself. I've got the holy trinity of dependence, a newborn, a toddler, and a teenager.

Each of them require different types of attention and energy from me. My job is inseparable from who I am.

I am literally Catherine Ryan Limited. Plus, I have taken a husband, and all of a sudden,

as it turns out, romantic relationships need to be nurtured, just like a child or a pet or a

snoring plant. Sometimes I feel stretched thin, and like I'm letting everybody down.

things one day at a time, stay grounded in reality, and most importantly of all, I sleep instead

of having friends. This is all okay, it's temporary. I'm glad to have learned through therapy how

to use positive coping skills and how to set boundaries. No, I'm not free for lunch this week.
