Today's tip is to prepare for winter weather by getting good gear.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

And good stuff can make going outside much more pleasant.

I have some circulation issues and so I am perpetually cold in the winter. I also really enjoy going outside.

I like fresh air and I don't want to give that up just because the temperature is dropping or there's a big batch of snow in the forecast.

So over the past few years, I have invested in some outdoor gear that allows me to enjoy the winter outdoors.

Now I am still not going to be able to ski for hours in sub-zero temperatures as I know some people

can do. But I can go out for a while and

that can make a big difference in my mood. I'm particularly cognizant of that

this year when we'll probably be avoiding indoor places,

and perhaps you should as well.

If meeting other people means meeting them outside, well, best to get equipment that makes such things possible.

If you, too, live in a climate where you are staring down winter, it might be time to take stock

of your gear.

I'd recommend tall and waterproof boots.

They make tromping through snow drifts fun,

rather than unpleasant.
