Summary

15 months ago I hated negotiating. I hated asking for discounts and I hated haggling on price. I was an effective communicator, but I wasn’t an effective negotiator. I got nervous in negotiating situations because I wasn’t sure how to ask for what I wanted, without seeming demanding or unreasonable. That’s when I discovered Chris Voss. Searching on Audible, I found Voss’ book ‘Never Split the Difference’. An ex FBI negotiator, the book taught me negotiating skills that changed my life. Armed with these new skills (and a completely new mindset around negotiating), it would not be an overstretch to say that my life has transformed. I have used the skills Voss teaches to develop deeper relationships with my husband, kids, family and employees. I have saved myself thousands of dollars, received complimentary upgrades on flights and in hotels and diverted crises in the business with staff and customers. When Chris agreed to be a guest on my podcast, I jumped for joy. I saw that he was hosting a FREE 5 Day Negotiation Challenge through a private Facebook Group. So I reached out to him on Instagram and offered to share it with my audience. Ten minutes later we had exchanged cell phone numbers and set up a podcast interview at 7am UK time (this was 8pm on Saturday night). 0:51.2	negotiation. And of course, as soon as I saw this, I reached out to him and I said,

0:59.6	this? Can you tag me in it or can you put a post on your timeline? And so he wrote back and said,
1:03.7	yeah, of course, sure, no problem at all. You know, I can do that. And thank you so much for sharing. Now, here's the backstory. I have been chasing Chris Foss to try to get him into a
1:12.1	podcast interview for months. When I say chasing, not really chasing, because I reached out to him
1:16.5	on Instagram and I asked him, would he be a guest on my podcast? He said, absolutely, I would love to.
1:21.1	So my executive assistant, Christina, and his executive assistant have been trying to organize,

1:28.0	make it fit into both our schedules. But yesterday after I reached out to Chris, I was just like,
1:32.3	you know what? Maybe the universe put this in front of me. I have to grab hold of this with both
1:37.0	hands. So I messaged Chris and I said to him, I have this radical idea. I said the challenge
