And today we're switching tacks a little bit.

We talked about Propagation propagation techniques and this actually is still

a propagation technique but it's one that you're probably more familiar with and

that would be starting plants from seed the many different ways that you can

improve your germination of various different types of

seeds.

So I think you guys have probably heard me talk about things like stratification before or scarification or soaking and actually lately with my apocalypse

grow challenge probably heard me talk about pre sprouting potatoes letting shoots come out of the

eyes or chitting them as people call it over in the UK.

So Leslie, do you think we could just start out with that that chitting or that green sprouting

or that soaking process?

Yeah, so that's often the first question I get when it comes to

seeds is what do I have to do to prepare these seeds? And generally I'm going to

always tell you that you need to get to know something about the species that you're propagating, whether you're doing seed germination or vegetative propagation because every species of plant has different requirements. Every plant that grows from seed has different requirements for its seeds.
