There was a point, and I clearly remember this in my Ute, of an America after the war,

in absolute awe of Conrad Adinauer, is the gentleman who dragged Germany out of the Marshall Plan

and out of the rebuild into something

approximating a modern parliamentary system with all the distraction of the Berlin Wall.

Would Conrad at an hour and know the Germany of this Monday morning?

Well, he would probably be quite disappointed because we now have right-wing fringe parties
