Well, Georgia has spoken. The Reverend Rafael Warnoch is headed to the Senate.

He defeated Kelly Lefler, who goes back to just being a racist WNBA owner, I guess.

And the Reverend will be the first black senator from Georgia ever.

And while John Assof's race with David Perdue is closer and maybe headed for a recount,

he also looks highly likely to be headed to D.C., giving Democrats control of the Senate by

the slimmest possible margin. Warnoch and Assof, I guess you can say that GOP is getting

knockoffed. I'm a dad now.

And I'm politically reactive. We like to talk to the people who do the work defending,

reviving and expanding our democracy. And in Georgia, Ense Uphat is definitely one of them.

Now most of us know Stacey Abrams and the work she does in Georgia, but Stacey has been clear

that it ain't just her. Ense is the CEO of the New Georgia Project. She was at the forefront of

mobilizing the Black, Brown and Young voters who made Georgia a battleground state.

She'll tell us what this victory feels like and why this victory means that Republicans are coming for.

Also, another thing we like to do on the show is gloat when people we despise get what they deserve.

So this might be a place to note that if John Assof's lead holds, Mitch McConnell is out

as Senate Majority Leader. That makes him Senate Minority Leader. Which by the way,

colleague Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader is both very satisfying and fucking hilarious.
