I have no sympathy at all. We're two friends and stand-up comics trying to make sense of American

politics. That requires a lot of creativity, which we don't always have.

Because we don't get a lot of sleep. Because kids.

Our guest today is someone who actually does love to try to make sense of things,

and he does it creatively.

David Diggs. He originated the roles of Thomas Jefferson and the Marquit Elafayette in Hamilton.

Along with his friend, Rafael Casal, he wrote and directed,

starred in the film Blind Spotting.

He portrays Fretta Douglas in the miniseries The Good Lord Bird,

and he's going to play Sebastian in the Little Mermaid remake.

And he's an MC.

And somehow he managed to release a rap song about Hanukkah.

We talked to David about the imprint left on him by coming of age in the Bay Area.

All we did in high school was walk out.
