This is year two, but really in a lot of ways,

you have to count the first year as year zero when you're transitioning from a flex bone.

But this is year two of that transition from Paul Johnson's flexbone program to Jeff Collins,

who has brought a more modern offensive style, although the

flex bone in a lot of ways does a lot of the same sorts of things that modern spread option

offenses do. But it's still a really, really big rebuilding task because you really just have

to flip the roster. There's so many things that have to change

when you've decided that you're going to throw the football a little bit more,

and when you're using a different set of blocking schemes as your core up front,

you have to change a bunch on the line of scrimmage, and then you have to actually recruit

wide receivers and quarterbacks that are completely different than what you what you go for on the flex bone side obviously everybody knows that but the other thing that a lot

of people don't realize about where Georgia Tech was when Paul Johnson finally retired is they were

they had gotten really bad on defense and really it boiled down to Georgia Tech just not being
