It's me, your host, Chelsea Fagan, founder and CEO of the Financial Diet and woman who loves to talk about money.

And today I am really, really excited to have someone on who not only have I personally been watching for a while,

but who talks about a lot of topics that are some of frankly

our favorites to talk about here on TFD.

Literally just 10 minutes before sitting down to film this,

I was actually working on a script that I'll be recording

next month.

That's all about the current obsession, especially

taking place on places like TikTok, with old money aesthetic,

the coastal grandma look, like the what you're seeing the Pierce family wear as opposed to

the Roy family wearing on succession, this very specific ideal of money that is in some ways

so idealized as to be totally divorced from its class implications.

But if we scratch the surface of our obsession with old money aesthetics, we do understand pretty quickly and we'll obviously get into this in more depth in the video that there is a very strong class element there, even if we want to pretend it's just about the sweaters tied around your shoulders.

Similarly, by chance yesterday I off the cuff recorded a TikTok about one of my experiences working for a yacht club,

which is something that I've spoken about before on this channel. And it just sort of happened to go

off very unexpectedly in the past like 12 hours. It's gotten like half a million views with all

kinds of people

weighing in with their stories and experiences about having

worked at yacht clubs and country clubs for those who don't know

yacht clubs are essentially country clubs plus boats.
