Hey Susan, what's the best journey you've ever been on in your life?

Gosh, the best journey I've ever been. I mean, my adoption journey, as hard as it was,

was probably a huge journey learning curve experience where I relied on God.

What's the best journey where you learned something that you never knew about yourself?

Gosh, that one. Well, actually coming back from the journey of the adoption, because it was in Russia,

and then thinking I knew how to parent because they had three biological kids and realizing I really

didn't know how to parent because now I had two kids that were nine and 13 who had not been

parented and kind of really humbling.

What do you think got you through that? Oh, it was totally the Lord. There was so many times when I really didn't know what I was doing and I was kind of like, okay, God, I know you called me to this. I know that you wouldn't have called me if you didn't think I could do it, but I'm not seeing the path right now. And now on the other side of that, I was called

to be God's tool to save them from an environment that Shirley would have ended in death. And it

wouldn't happen without God. Oh, yes. Well, I think that that's a really good segue into our story today

because Jacob is on a journey. Yes. And it certainly wouldn't have turned out that well for him without God. No. And it's 20 years long. So I'm going to catch you guys up on what happened last episode in chapters 29 and 30. And then we're going to get on to this journey of Jacobs. Jacob leaves his home. He saves his life. and then he finds a wife. He finds her at the

well. He falls in love. Then his uncle, Laban, tricks him. It's a sister switch. It was a really

dirty trick. But she's got to be really creepy the next morning to realize you slept with the wrong

woman. Well, I wonder how much he had to drink that night because I don't know. Not really sure he

didn't know which

girl you slept with but that's another story exactly and then Jacob ends up with two sister

wives but not free not without a cost there's 14 years of hard labor he has to do before he gets

the woman that he loves which is actually really sweet. All right, but it's only God.

Just like Susan's journey of adoption, it is only God that gets him out of this mess that he is in here. And that's why he's on this journey because he has to learn to rely on God. And we're going to see that in the next few chapters. We're going to see that. So we're picking up in chapter 30 and a half. We finished in the
