We will go ahead and get started, when we get started eventually, probably tonight,

depending on how long I ramble in my introduction.

We will pick up at the beginning of Genesis chapter 12, and we'll begin the story of

when we begin Abram or Avram and later Abraham or Avraham.

But there's going to be some introduction here because this is, for those of you listening

to this recording at some point in the distant future,

possibly all the way in the year 2000, you will be, the previous episode will have come out last week.

For those of us sitting here,

this is our first Bible study back after Flint and

Paska, so it's been a couple of months.

But we

deliberately sort of timed this out

because there's a major transition here

in the book of Genesis.

And so this was a very natural break point to leave off at the end of chapter 11 and pick up at the beginning of

chapter 12. It was not accidental. So there's going to be a minimal amount of review of chapters 1 through 11,

but we need kind of another introduction now to what we're going to read in the rest of the book of Genesis,

which is going to run from here in chapter 12 all the way to chapter 50,

which is the last chapter.
