two-part look at gender hermeneutics in Paul, where we focus on 1st Corinthians 11.

In this episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with my colleague and boss Lucy Peppia

to talk about her work on this passage.

She's written two books on 1st Corinthians 11, and she has a very interesting and compelling take on it.

Lucy and Michael Lakey, who I interviewed the previous episode on this,

agree in many respects but differ on whether they think Paul wrote all of 1 Corinthians 11,

which has significant implications

for what kind of gender theology you think Paul has. So Lucy will suggest that Paul was quoting

and then refuting his opponents, which, as you can imagine, lands you in a very different place. So
