I'm your host, Bailey Ortega, and I have a very exciting guest today.

I'm here with Trace.

Trace, how you doing?

Great.

I have been trying to get Trace on this podcast for so long. I'm so excited. Well, actually, I've been trying to get a men's basketball player on the podcast. So happy to have Trace on, especially with the Amazon Prime series and everything huge that's been happening with him. So I'm so excited to have him on and just talk about all that you do because you kind of do a lot.

Like you do a little bit of everything.

So tell me a bit about yourself.

Like just give me a little basic rundown.

A bit about myself.

Well, my name is Trace Young.

I'm from Austin, Texas.

This is my last year in college, senior year. Is this like, so not COVID? Normal senior year. No, no, it's my fifth year. This is your fifth year. Okay. But it's just my senior year. Okay. So I was at, okay, listen, no, let me explain. Can I get that next year? Okay. So when, so I was at Colorado State before I came to LSU.

I was there for three years and then when I transferred here, I lost like all my credits. And I was way ahead. I did like a bunch of college credits in high school too. So I could have graduated in like two or three years at Colorado State, but I spaced them out specifically so I could just be there before. Then when I transferred here, I went back. I lost like two years. So then now I'm using my fifth year, but I'm really sad to graduate in like the winter, but I'm going to graduate in the spring just because basketball season rolls over. That makes sense. And what are you majoring in? Business marketing. Okay. What, what's your, do you have a plan to do anything with that? What's your idea with that?

Well, honestly, at this point, it's kind of, you know, wherever God takes me is where I'm going to go.

But, I mean, I do like marketing. That's something that I enjoy. My dad and I started a business called Bology when I was like in high school. Yeah. So I've been doing that like part time all growing up and then through college. That might be something I continue after. But I'll be making content and a bunch of stuff. Like you said, I do a lot of things. So I don't think that'll stop after after college. Awesome. Okay. So you talked about Colorado State. Talk about your experience in the transfer portal coming here.

You obviously talked about the credits and that whole thing. But like, talk to me about the transfer portal. Like, why did you decide to enter the transfer portal? What got you to LSU? Like, I think that's something that not a lot of athletes talk about, but I think it's important to talk about that process. So tell me about yours. No, I mean, absolutely. I think for me, I think it's going to be the answer to a lot of my questions, but really God was the reason why I came here. I loved Colorado State.
