U.S. envoy reads the Times of Israel headlines.

U.S. envoys to join hostage talks in Doha tell families of, quote, genuine chance for progress.

This all comes upon the heels of the release of another hostage of a duels and citizenship named

Alexander. I'm told he's in very poor shape and that he's been abused, but he's alive and with his family now.

However, we need to do a count here because the hostages remain Hamas's weapon.

The half are alive, half are dead is all I have.

What can we know now about the hostages and the negotiation?
