UNICEF is warning that Israel's months-long blockade of aid to Gaza has led to what it calls

a point of absolute catastrophe. The UN's humanitarian office says Israel gave approval to send around 100 trucks to the enclave

yesterday.

But aid agencies say this is just a drop in the ocean, with one in five people facing

starvation.

That's something 12-year-old Jana El Skafi knows all too well, as she waits hours to fill

buckets of water.

My father is old and has heart disease.

Yesterday, in an attempt to get Israeli forces to stop the current offensive in Gaza and

let in more aid, the UK paused trade talks with Israel, while the EU announced it would

review its relationship with the nation.

But a foreign relations expert told CNN that this pressure is unlikely to be enough.
