When last we left the runaways, Apex the Wildman, Cynthia the Nurse, Louise the scavenger, Alvin, the mechanic, and Theo, the combat medic.

They were continuing to investigate the areas around the Emerald Acropolis after the mutated cicada attack.

Venturing further into the woods to the north, Apex and Cynthia discovered emaciated trees,

enlarged man-sized holes in the ground, discovering that many of the cicadas died due to mutations

in their holes.

Apex brought a specimen back to Bach, who was having a conversation about the maypole known as Razor Glow with Theo.

Meanwhile, Alvin and Louise spoke with Jed about a hidden store of a material called Ultracite,

which could be helpful in exploring Bolt 40.

Apex agreed to take a small team with him

to explore the woods further north

near an old settlement

where they suspected some answers

behind the attack melee.
