When last we left the runaways, Apex the Wildman, Alvin the mechanic, Louise the scavenger,

and Cynthia the Earths, they were exploring the remains of the fabulous Fox Theatre, still

standing after centuries of neglect. Inside they found, fabulous architecture and fancy

binary, though they also managed to serve a sleeping centaur hiding backstage. After putting

it out of its misery and dispatching a few more mutated monstrosities, the gang continued

searching the building for anything of note. When they spotted, or rather were spotted

by, a mysterious figure standing silhouetted in the upper landing. With Apex leading the

charge and narrowly avoiding the gaze of a few more centaur's, the Wildman closed in

on the figure, just managing to miss the trigger of a tripmine. Stuck between the rock

and a hard place, what will our wastelanders do? Find out on tonight's episode of Gateway!

And so Apex, you find yourself catching yourself from moving any further as you see dust

particles flying into the red laser of a tripmine placed on the side of this catwalk, shall

we say. Alright Apex is impulsive, but he's no fool. What is this catwalk? How high up

are we if I look down over the edge? If you look down over the edge, you're probably

maybe two, one T five feet up. Okay, painful but survivable. What is above me and what

is beneath the catwalk? Beneath the catwalk? Is it like, are there rails to grasp on

either side here? Yes, there are rails that you can grasp on either side. Directly below

the catwalk is the area leading into the main lobby, the way you came into this building

from. Alright, after weighing my options, the first thing I'm going to do is just use my

eyes to see how many of these mines I can see from my current location. Make up with the one

that I know is in front of me. Alright, wits. Shabort, that's a 13. Shabort indeed. Nairing your

perception and gazing across the catwalk, you can see there only appears to be just the one mine.
