First, we're joined by Dr. Gary Wolfram, William Simon Professor of Economics and Public Policy, Director of Economics and Professor of Political Economy at Hillsdale College.

Dr. Wilfrum, thanks for joining us.

Well, thank you for having me again.

Talking today about a plank in Joe Biden's platform, he says he wants to speed the transition to an electric vehicle fleet.

I know you've written some about this in the past. What do you make of that plan, his plan,

to accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles across the country?

Well, one of the things that he's proposing is you're going to have to develop 500,000 new public

charging stations and that's supposed to happen by the end of by the end of i don't know when

the 2030 is when he says 2030 i think it's 2030 right um so the question is in 10 years can you

ramp up 500 000 charging stations And if there's not a

fleet of electric vehicles out there, let's suppose if people decide they don't want to buy

electric vehicles because they're uncertain about how many miles or how many miles they'll be

able to get on a charge and how long it's

going to take to recharge if they get there. What happens if you're, you know, if you run out
