The race is on, or certainly it is when it comes to deciding exactly what to do about Formula One's new rules amid the current COVID-19 pandemic, which is putting tremendous financial stress upon the teams and Formula One as a whole.

Formula One was quick to take action to confront the financial problems that faced it

amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but further moves

are proving to be a little more of a sticking point as the various stakeholders reach something

of an impasse in a dispute about reducing the budget cap and potentially deferring the new regulations

another 12 months to 2023, as well as the mechanisms for restricting development.
