So what's going on?

Well, we haven't done one in a while.

So there's been a lot of stuff that's happened since our last episode.

But I wanted to start today's episode just by remembering one of my favorite comedians and basically people, like famous people, I mean, of people

who have touched me in my life. You know, I mean, there's, for everybody out there, there's

probably a handful or, you know, a couple dozen of celebrities or musicians or artists that

you've, you know, you can say have truly touched you in some way and that you'll remember and that they've influenced you in some way. And Gary Shanneling was one of those big people in my life who, ever since I was a kid. And I don't know if you're, if you remember this, Abby, but mom used to watch the Gary

Shandling show when we were growing up.

I think it was on in the late 80s.

It was on Showtime.

I remember watching a little bit of it when I was a kid and not just totally not understanding it,

but remembering that mom loved it and she was trying to explain it to me.

You know, saying it was like this weird abstract comedy, didn't really understand it.

And then when the Larry Sanders show came on, which was like his, you know, his second sitcom, and that was on HBO, I was old enough to start watching it.

And I just remember, I think I was like in middle school when I had started watching it.

And I just was so hooked on it. There was really

nothing else like it on television. This is before Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office,

extras, all these shows that you see now, especially extras and Curb Your Enthusiasm, where they
