Summary
Gareth Thomas, a man who can be truly proud of who he is and where he's come from. As a former captain of the British and Irish Lions, and the second highest try scorer for Wales, Gareth is without doubt a sporting hero. But he's also one of the few British sportsman to publicly come out as gay. That was back in 2009 and it transformed his life forever.
In this episode Gareth reflects on why self-acceptance was the tool that saved his life, and how he used it to overcome the loneliness that had gripped him for so many years. But in 2020, life changed once more, when he was diagnosed with HIV and was forced to face the stigma that still surrounds it.
