Summary

The Nats were shutout 3-0 by Milwaukee for a disappointing end to the home stand. Al begins the episode by simply posing to Mark, "Have we hit the low point?".  (8:34) Juan Soto had another long day at the ballpark as he was caught stealing in the 1st and part of a controversial at bat with umpire Sam Holbrook later in the game, that resulted in an ejection to Kevin Long. What can be done to get Soto out of his funk? Al has a rather creative idea. (20:26) The guys pose the question of whether or not it's time to make a trade. What does Mike Rizzo have to work with in order to get a deal done? Is it worth it? (26:44) Recap of the 5-star pitching match-up of Max Scherzer vs. Brandon Woodruff.  We also give an update on Will Harris' upcoming surgery. (36:14) A preview of the four game series in Atlanta. Will Erick Fedde start on Wednesday? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

He takes Max Scher deep here with two out of the top of the first inning a walk at a two two-run, home run, his second career, Homer off max. And it's the Brewers, too, and the Nationals nothing. The pitch to Soto. And that's called a strike. He was going to ring him up, but that's only strike two. Get in the game, Sam Holbrook. This is ridiculous. Holbrook was about to ring him up. Soter doesn't like the call.

We also say on this Memorial Day that the Nationals offense is horrible. A new low point on Sunday afternoon, 3-0, the final to the Milwaukee Brewers at Nationals Park to complete a three-game sweep. And that's now our 21 and 28 on the season. I don't know what was worse over the weekend, the weather in the D.C. area or the nationals hitting.

And the other question we need to tackle here is, is this, in fact, the low point or just a low point?

2:08.7

Because just because things are really bad doesn't mean that they can't get worse.
