It is part two of the doubleheader that was at Nationals Park on a rainy, cold, windy day on Saturday.

The National swept in a doubleer against the Milwaukee Brewers,

a nine-game homestand that was ripe for the Nats to get fat and happy on it, instead now

sees the Nats trying to avoid a three-game sweep to the Brewers on Sunday afternoon. More on

that game coming up shortly, what is a marquee pitching matchup. But for now, the nationals are 21 and 27 overall,

0 and 5 in seven inning games on the season. It was a 6-2-7 inning loss to the Brewers

in the Saturday night game, the game two of the doubleheader. It was another woeful

offensive performance for the Nats. Now, in a different kind of way, Nats did have eight hits and four walks, but seven of the eight hits were singles. Nats went one for nine with runners in scoring position. It was a game that was close, and that ended up actually not being so close. One of those games that, like, you felt like, you know, you sneezed, and all of a sudden, the Brewers were up by four runs. Brewer scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning.

In a seven-inning game, by the way, that lasted three hours. Okay, so I know, Mark, you don't like the seven-in-in-game, and I get why. But for people like me, a seven-in-ing game that goes three hours, we'd still be watching the game if that thing was a nine inning game, that game too.

I mean, maybe so, Al, but this was the person, this was just such a slow, drag-it-out, miserable night when the weather was awful.

And I don't know.

Part of me thinks that it went slower because it was seven innings, the managers say, well, we got to pull the

starters early. Now we got to play the matchups in the fourth inning in the fifth inning.

I don't know if they do the same thing if they know that it's nine. So maybe there's less
