As usual, rivalry night does not disappoint. Caps get the win, two to one, Alan May, T.J. Oshy. Captain America is the hero. Tough as nails. This is a guy that wanted to play the game. They tried everything. They stuck him in the eye. They give him an elbow to the face, and he comes back. Two times the concussion protocol comes back, scores a beautiful game winner and ices it with just over a minute left in the hockey game. T.J. O'Shee, hell of a player. Brian McNally, Braden Holpey, at times stole this game. Best game of his season, I think, Rob, that was, it was impressive. The Benguins came to play tonight. Played a tough, tough game. What a night. NBCSN has renamed it to Wednesday night hockey,

but when the Caps and Penguins play, it is always rivalry night.

And after a kind of boring first period when Sidney Crosby

scored the only goal from about the middle

of the second period on, Alan, this game started to feel like a playoff game, and by the end,

it was full intensity.

Well, there was no ugly in this game in the first period, other than the fans weren't in the building

yet. They were really quiet. The play on the ice wasn't physical.

But all of a sudden, Higlin bumps into Braden Holby. And I think that started off to get the second period going. The hate, you started to see the hate out there. You know, Crosby doing what he does. He puts numbers up against the caps. He gets on the board first with his 21st goal and 47 games against the caps. But you know what? Ovi starts laying the smackdown,

starts throwing the body. His team starts to start playing a more physical game. The penguins are bumping into Holby left and right. It seemed like almost every offensive zone entry,

they were getting Holby bumping into him. But he was not thwarted at all this game.

And those last two periods, the second and third, definitely lived up to rivalry night, not just Wednesday night hockey, but back to the old school rivalry night that we're so used to with these two teams.
