The title that I chose for today's teaching is in the form of a question.

0:06.9

I don't do this very often, but this was one of the places in God's word where I deemed it necessary to ask the question by way of a title.

0:17.7

And the question is this.

0:19.6

You see it on the screen. Is this of God? Let me take it further and also ask

0:28.3

this question in addition. Not just is this of God. Are they from God? And that's the question that I'm hoping to answer as we look at this

0:44.0

text in verses 1 through 12 as the Apostle Paul turns a corner of sorts in our text today.

0:52.7

I like how the book of Galatians is organized. I like how one commentator

0:59.0

noted it. He said that chapters one and two are personal. Chapters three and four are doctrinal,

2:09.9

prior, unaware, stealth, kind of under the radar.

2:14.6

And what they were bringing to these churches was this false teaching that Jesus Christ and

2:23.4

the finished work on the cross isn't enough. That it's Jesus and, it's Jesus and. It's Jesus if.

2:32.8

It's Jesus when. and it was namely in the requirement of which for us today is really inconsequential, but what they were doing was saying that when you come to Christ,

2:51.4

you also have to be circumcised according to the law.

2:55.7

Now, again, this is important to understand what was happening

2:58.6

because it will better explain why Paul takes the posture that he takes.
