Galatians chapter 2 today. Our text will be verses 6 through 12. And I'll have you turn there in your Bibles and then, oh. Pardon me.

And once you find your way there, if you're able, I'll ask you to stand.

If not, that's alright, but you can follow along as I read, beginning in verse 6, where the apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, continues in his letter to the churches there in Galatia,

and says, as for those who were held in high esteem, whatever they were makes no difference to me.

God does not show favoritism.

They added nothing to my message.

On the contrary, verse 7, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised just as Peter had been to the

circumcised. For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in

me as an apostle to the Gentiles. James, Seifis, and John, Seifus being Peter, those esteemed as

pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace

given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised

or the Jews. All they asked, verse 10, was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very

thing I had been eager to do all along. When Seifis came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face. And here's why.

It's because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the

Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back

and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the

circumcision group. Would you pray with me and we'll ask God's blessing on our understanding?

Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for this portion that we have here before us in your word today. Lord, we desperately need for you by the

Holy Spirit to minister to us in and through your word. Lord, we desire for you to pour out your Holy Spirit upon us in a fresh way as you do.

Lord, minister by the Holy Spirit through your Holy Word to us, your holy people. We pray. In Jesus' name, amen. You can be seated. Thank you so much.
