Well, listen, let's get into the word.

Looking forward to our study tonight in Ezra, we're going to do two chapters tonight,

Lord willing, and very interesting chapter in front of us here with chapter five.

It's going to get even a little bit more interesting in chapter six.

So why don't we pray before we jump in.

ask god's blessing on our time together in his word loving heavenly father we're so thankful to you

for bringing mac and tanya and the kids back safely home here and lord we're just so grateful to you you did it in a way that only you can and

so Lord we just praise you for that Lord we ask you for your blessing on our time together in

your word tonight we're looking to you Lord we're looking're looking to you to speak to us, to minister to us, Lord.

And we don't want any distraction to keep us from that which you have for us tonight.

We're, Lord, anticipating that you're going to minister to us in and through your word.

So, Lord, will you? We're asking you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

All right, let's jump in, verses one and two.

Then the prophet Haggai and Zechariah, the son of Ido prophets, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem

in the name of the God of Israel who was over them. So Zerebabel, the son of Shielteel, and

Yeshua, the son of Jazadak, rose up and began to build the house of God,

which is in Jerusalem, and the prophets of God were with them helping them.

That's interesting in and of itself.

So the chapter begins by introducing us to two prophets,

two Old Testament prophets, the prophet Haggai and the prophet Zechariah, both of whom God uses

to prophesy to the Jews concerning the rebuilding of the temple.
